The Club was formed in Morwell in 1960 with the aims of fostering an enjoyment of the world of nature and working for the preservation of the flora and fauna of the Latrobe region.
Since then the Club has regularly monthly meetings and excursions and has become involved in local conservation and preservation of the Latrobe region.
The club meets on the fourth Friday of each month at 7:30pm at the Uniting Church Hall, corner of Old Sale Road and Chamberlain Road, Newborough. Guest speakers cover a variety of topics relating to our natural environment and its protection. Meetings include reports on club activities such as conservation work, representatives on committees and correspondence.
Following the Friday meeting an excursion is held on Saturday to view areas or items of environmental interest, often related to the evening's topic. Leaders are experienced naturalists who are willing to share their expertise.
Spring and summer camps are held at locations further afield.
